Day 01- Transfer to Negombo

Day 02- Negombo- Anuradhapura
• Transfer to Anuradhapura (3.5 Hrs.)
• Explore religious monuments in Anuradhapura ancient city

Anuradhapura UNESCO World Heritage site was the cradle of glorious Sinhalese Buddhist
civilization and the center of Theravada Buddhism for centuries. Because of the city’s magnificent
collection of ruins and living heritages, UNESCO named it as a world heritage site in 1982. You will
be visiting a handful of Buddhist pilgrimage sites of Sri Lanka during your visit to Anuradhapura.

Day 03- Anuradhapura-Jaffna
• Transfer to Jaffna. (5 Hrs.)
• Visit Dambakola Patuna Sangamitta temple
• Jaffna sightseen city tour

Dambakola Patuna Sangamitta temple is a spiritually significant place for Sri Lankans. It’s
the place where Theri Sangamitta, the sister of Mahinda Thero, landed with a sapling of the
Great Sri Maha Bodhi in India. This sapling is the one you’ll find in the Sacred City of
Anuradhapura. The temple is an importance place of Theravada Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

Day 04- Explore Jaffna
• Visit Nagadeepa temple
• Visit Kudrudugoda Temple
• Visit other important Buddhist monuments and Kovils in Jaffna
• Overnight stay in Jaffna hotel
Nagadeepa Temple is a small temple in the Nainathiv islet off the coast of the Jaffna
peninsula. According to the legend, the island was ruled by a tribal group called Nagas, and
the Nagas have built this temple as a homage to Lord Buddha. This is a must include site for
Buddhist pilgrimage in Sri Lanka.

Day 05- Jaffna-Habarana
• Transfer to Habarana (5 Hrs.)
• Visit Dambulla cave temple (UNESCO World Heritage)
• Minneriya Wildlife Safari in the evening
• Overnight stay in Habarana
Dambulla Cave temple is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.
The temple complex consists of magnificent Buddha Images and Rock Paintings of vivid
colors and shapes constructed and painted from around 2nd Century BC. It is a must visited
place during the Buddhist Pilgrimage tour in Sri Lanka.

Day 06- Habarana- Kandy
• Habarana village tour & enjoy authentic Sri Lankan local lunch
• Transfer to Kandy
• En route visit Spice Garden
• En route visit Alu Viharaya temple – Mathale
• Kandy cultural show

Kandy – A lovely exotic city, the hill capital and the last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a
UNESCO World Heritage Site. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center, it’s the site
of the renowned temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha. A very significant site

Day 07- Kandy-Colombo
• Visit to Sacred Tooth Relic Temple Kandy and participate in the pooja @ 5.30 AM
• Transfer to Colombo
• Visit Royal Botanic Gardens Kandy enroute
• En route visit Gatambe Temple / Gadoladeniya temple
• En route visit Elephant Orphanage Pinnawala
• Visit Kelaniya temple
• Overnight stay in Colombo
Kelaniya Temple is one of the most venerated Buddhist Temples in Sri Lanka. This sacred
temple dates back to the time before chronologically recorded history of Sri Lanka. It is
believed to be the place where Buddha visited Sri Lanka for the third time. Recommended

Day 08- Departure
